Restoring Deleted User Accounts

This demonstrates how to restore one or more user accounts that were previously deleted in EmpowerID. This topic is divided into the following activities:

If the account being restored had an Exchange mailbox, the mailbox will be restored with the account.

To restore an account that was previously deleted in EmpowerID

  1. From the Navigation Sidebar, navigate to User Management page by expanding Identities and clicking User Accounts.
  2. From the Actions pane of User Management page, click the Restore Deleted Account action.
  3. In the following image, the Locations pane has been collapsed to conserve screen real estate.

  4. In the Deleted User Accounts lookup that appears, search for the deleted account you want to restore and then tick the box beside the account in the grid to select it.
  5. Click Submit and then click OK to close the Operation Execution Summary.
  6. If you deselectedWait to See Results, the Operation Execution Summary will not appear. Deselecting Wait to See Results on this screen, does not suspend the action; it only hides the results of the action.

To verify the account is restored in EmpowerID

  1. Search for the deleted account(s) you just restored. You should a record for each account you restored.
  2. From the User Account grid of the User Management page, click the LogonName link for the returned record.
  3. You should be directed to the View One page (Account Details) for the user account.

  4. Navigate to the Audit Log by expanding System Logs in the Navigation Sidebar and clicking Audit Log.
  5. From the Audit Log tab of the Audit Log, search for the user account(s) you restored. You should see a record for each account.

To verify the account is restored in Active Directory

  1. Open Active Directory Users and Computers and search for the account(s) you restored.
  2. You should see that the account exists in the same OU it was in before it was deleted.
