Assigning Query Based Collections to Roles

Assigning Query Based Collections to EmpowerID Roles gives everyone in the Query-Based Collection (QBC) access to any resources defined for those roles. This topic demonstrates how to assign a QBC to an EmpowerID Role by assigning a QBC to a Management Role.

To assign a Query-Based Collection to a Management Role

  1. From the Navigation Sidebar, navigate to the Management Roles management page by expanding Identities and clicking Management Roles.
  2. From the All Roles tab of the Management Roles management page, search for the Management Role to which you want to assign the Query-Based Collection.
  3. From the grid, click the link for the Management Role.

  4. In the below image the Navigation Sidebar, Locations pane and Actions page have been collapsed to conserve screen real estate.

    This opens the View One page for the Management Role. View One pages allow you to view information about resources and make access decisions as needed.

  5. From the View One page for the Management Role, click the Other Types of Management Role Members accordion to expand it.
  6. From the expanded Other Types of Management Role Members accordion, click the Edit link located above the Query-Based Collection (SetGroup) pane.
  7. Type the name of the QBC that you want to add as a member to the Management Role in the Enter search to add field and then click the tile for the group.
  8. Click Save.
