Cloning Management Role Definitions

Cloning a Management Role Definition allows you to use the operations and rights associated with the cloned Management Role Definition as a starting point for building a new Management Role Definition. When you clone an Management Role Definition, you create an exact copy of that Management Role Definition, with all the operations of that definition being passed to the clone. Once you have created the clone, you can tailor it to meet your specific needs by adding or removing operations as needed.

To clone a Management Role Definition

  1. From the Navigation Sidebar of the EmpowerID Web interface, navigate to the Management Role management page by expanding Identities and clicking Management Roles.
  2. From the Role Definitions tab, search for the Management Role Definition you want to clone and then click the record for that role to display a list of contextual actions that can be applied against it.
  3. From the Actions pane, click the Clone Management Role action.
  4. In the following image, the Locations pane has been collapsed to conserve screen real estate.

  5. Click Yes to confirm you want to clone the Management Role Definition and then click OK to close the Operation Execution Summary.

To verify Management Role Definition clone

  1. From the Navigation Sidebar, navigate to Change Manager by expanding Compliance and Reports and clicking Audit Log.
  2. From the Audit Log tab of Change Manager, type Clone to <Name of the Management Role Definition you Cloned> in the Search field and press ENTER.
  3. You should see a record for the cloned Management Role Definition appear in the grid.
